1. Overflowing Unsteady, Like filling a cup up to the brim And then running out the door full sprint For another daily time trial competition. So much is spilled and lost, And so much energy wasted In the desperate attempt To pack each and every moment With more of everything. So much is worth so little Once efficiency has successfully strangled out Any and all breathing room from a hurried existence. 2. Spoiled Groceries Do we really need more groceries? Our fridge is so full already The door can hardly close. Everyone in this house Seems so passionately determined To try every possible new variety and flavor available, But so much keeps spoiling before it can ever be enjoyed. And each time something new is added, what’s already there Just gets shoved further and further to the back— And while no one dares to look into it, the unbearable smell That’s been lingering there for awhile now tells me That yesterday's leftovers have long since transformed The depths of our fridge into a rancid swampland.
